BOSS™ BRILLOUIN OPTICAL SCANNER SYSTEM
Biomechanical imaging with the Brillouin Optical Scanner System, or BOSS, will address a wide range of ophthalmic indications. BOSS is a non-contact, confocal, high-resolution optical scanning platform aimed at identifying the biomechanical properties of ocular tissues such as the cornea or lens, to build a spatially resolved profile of tissue stiffness in vivo.
How BOSS works
BOSS works by using light energy to measure reverberations through the depth of the eye tissue. To determine the biomechanics or elasticity of tissues, the system performs a spectral analysis of the scattered laser light.
